Koshinkai Bujutsu Kai (KBK) translates, "The Brotherhood or Society to study and improve traditional and modern fighting methodologies". The Koshinkai Bujutsu Kai is the name given for the Adult Karate Program that is perpetuated under the Xtreme Karate and MMA, LLC. School of West Plains, Missouri and is headed up by Sensei Nathan Ogden. The Koshinkai Karate Program encompasses a conglomerate of Shorin Ryu traditions including Kenshinkan, Matsumura Orthodox, Kobayashi Ryu and other Okinawan styles. The Xtreme Karate and MMA school of West Plains is a member of the UMAA also known as the Zen Sekai Bujutsu Kyokai or Universal Martial Arts Association, under the direction of Kaicho Frank Williams
The Xtreme Karate and MMA School of West Plains, Missouri is headed up and owned by Mr. Brian Rackley who acts as the head instructor for the Mixed Martial Arts, Grappling, Kickboxing and Xtreme Freestyle Competition Karate sections of the School.
Mr. Rackley currently is affiliated with the Elite Martial Arts Group of Jonesboro, Arkansas, headed by Mr. Joey Perry. Mr. Rackley trains regularly with Grandmaster Max Bishop the head instructor for the Mixed Martial Arts and Grappling Programs at the Elite Martial Arts Headquarters in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
The goal of the KBK is to serve one another in a brotherhood of martial arts, approach martial arts from a research and educational point of view and to respect all martial arts whether traditional or eclectic. It is our endeavor to help martial artists grow in all areas from elementary to higher education in study, application and teaching of martial arts. The KBK also provides an avenue for those seeking to broaden their traditional studies to bigger horizons.
In addition we seek to perpetuate ethics, morals, cultural understanding as prescribed in the universal philosophy of martial arts and combat ignorance, prejudice, hate through acceptance of martial arts styles and practitioners in a universal and unbiased manner. Finally, as instructors, directors, members and representatives of the KBK, it is our responsibility to strive for excellence in ourselves and in the study of martial arts. Furthermore, we strive for the continued growth, expansion and success of the KBK through active participation, support of each other and functions sanctioned by the KBK.
